updated: Wednesday, May 18, 2012 CONTACT: Mike Lentz FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Classics FC & WASA Eagles FC – One Future Classics FC Director of Coaching, Mike Lentz, and WASA Eagles FC Director, Jeff Dybdahl, announced this week that the two clubs will unite all aspects of their respective programs under an expanded, more comprehensive, and more impactful Classics Eagles Alliance starting in Fall 2012. The existing Classics Eagles Alliance was created in 2009 when Classics FC (Olentangy) and WASA Eagles FC (Westerville) agreed to merge their community based teams at the U13-U18 age groups. The goal was to provide better opportunities for players of ALL abilities to develop, train and compete at the appropriate level, and maximize their potential. Going forward, the Classics Eagles Alliance will add to its mission the direction and management of the following U8-U12 Competitive and Premier Soccer Programs, that will remain as independent community based programs: · Classics Eagles – Olentangy (formerly Classics FC) · Classics Eagles – Westerville (formerly WASA Eagles FC) · Classics Eagles – Easton (new community partnership with Columbus East Soccer Association – CESA) “The Classics Eagles Alliance has been a tremendous success to date”, said Mike Lentz. “It has resulted in improved results for players and teams of all levels within the alliance, results that could not have been achieved under the previous model. We are very excited about the opportunities and synergy that will be created by leveraging our operational, directorial, and coaching resources for all age groups in the Classics Eagles communities, and aligning our player development curriculums for the benefit of every player.” |
