Fall Season:
All Classics teams participate in their league schedule and 2 tournaments. The first tournament is the Fall Ball Classic in Cincinnati; the second is the Mid Ohio Select Soccer League end-of-season tournament. Teams are permitted to enter additional events at their own expense.
Fees: The fees are all inclusive with the exception of the (1) uniform package and (2) extra tournaments. The fees are collected in three installments: the first payment is due at the team formation meetings in June; the second is due September 1st; and the final payment is due February 1st.
Refunds: Refunds are granted only in cases of obtaining a written medical excuse from a physician or in the case of a family relocation to a distance that does not allow a player to consistently train/play with the team. The final decision regarding refunds are made by the Classics FC Directors and Administrative Staff.
Spring Season: All Classics FC teams participate in their league schedule and 2 tournaments. The first tournament, which is out of town, varies on the team and their level of play. In recent years, Classics FC teams have traveled to the Sidney Mayfest, MASC, Tornado Memorial and the Pacesetter Invitational. The second tournament is the Mid Ohio Select Soccer League end-of-season tournament. All Premier teams u11 & older are entered into the Ohio South State Cup, a single elimination tournament that begins in April. Any u13 and older State Cup Champion that advances to the US Youth Soccer Region II tournament (and subsequently the US Youth Soccer National Championships) will incur additional expenses.
Tryout Process: Classics FC hold tryouts over a three-week period at the end of May and beginning of June. Each age group and gender is given three nights to attend a tryout session. Players are encouraged to attend as many days as possible to allow the evaluators to properly assess their skills, however, attendance at all sessions is not mandatory. To ensure a fair and unbiased evaluation, Classics FC employs independent evaluators to assess and place players appropriately on Classics FC teams based upon the multi-day assessment of skill and performance during tryouts. Players wishing to tryout for an age group other than their own are required to get permission from the Directors of Coaching prior to tryouts.
Winter Training: All Classics teams are provided indoor training and conditioning during the winter months as part of each player’s fees. Sessions are held weekly for ten weeks at the SuperKick soccer training and performance center. http://superkick.com/columbus/index.htm Although attendance is not required at any indoor training session, the coaching staff believes this time is important to the player’s development.

Coach Expectations
As a coach within Classics FC, I:
- Agree to abide by the rules/directives of OCL, GOYSL, MOSSL, BPYSL, MRL, OSYSA, US Youth Soccer and US Club Soccer.
- Understand that a US Soccer “D” license is the minimum requirement to coach for the Classics FC. If I do not have the required “D” license, upon hiring, I agree to obtain said license within the year.
- Agree to hold one or two training sessions per week, appropriate to the age of the players, and to be punctual in arriving and prepared for training sessions and games.
- Understand that player development is the #1 priority to Classics FC and will promote and encourage each player to train with a ball as much as possible. Training activist should be designed so that everyone is active as much as possible with very little standing or waiting.
- Agree not to leave a training session or game until all players have been picked up by a parent or guardian
- Will refrain from teaching unsafe or unsportsmanlike methods to the players
- Understand that referee decisions should be accepted without rancor, no matter how unfair they may seem. I further understand that the use of behavior, verbal or physical, which is intimidating toward the referee, coach, or spectator is grounds for immediate dismissal.
- Agree to wear the Classics FC coaching staff gear to all club and team related events
- Will teach the players proper sportsmanship and on-field conduct.
- Will provide a fun learning environment for the players and always treat the players with respect.
- Will instruct the parents in proper behavior at games, including respect for the referee, the opposing parents and both teams of players; I further understand that spectator control is my responsibility.
- Will encourage safe, competitive, fair play and will reward improvement and effort, regardless of skill, and regardless of the outcome of any game. I will take steps to avoid “running up the score” by playing shorthanded or using other means with the laws of the game.
- Understand that player safety is a priority; I will remove my team from any training session or game where serious weather is imminent. I also agree to require a player, who is under a physician’s care, to provide written permission from the doctor/therapist before returning to training or games.
- Understand that winning is desirable, but winning at all costs is unacceptable. Losing can be a triumph when the team has given its best effort and learns from the experience.
- Understand that children must be exposed to various areas on the field at the u11 and younger age groups. I will strive to play each child in different positions to enhance their development through the course of each season.
- Will report the result of each game as soon as possible to the director of coaching to assist in the day-to-day record keeping for Classics FC.
- I agree to abide by this Coach’s Code Of Conduct
